Between 3 and 17 June 2026, DOBA University of Applied Sciences conducted its annual survey of graduates’ employers, an important part of its quality monitoring system. The purpose of the survey was to gain insight into how employers assess graduates’ knowledge, skills and competences, as well as the importance they place on employees’ further education and professional development.
This year, 40 companies took part in the survey:
Employers rate the competences of graduates of DOBA University of Applied Sciences (DOBA UAS) very highly. Average scores across all assessed competences range from 5.7 to 6.2 on a seven-point scale, showing that participating employers recognise that graduates possess the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the modern workplace.
The highest-rated competence was cooperation and teamwork, with a score of 6.2. It was also among the three competences employers considered most important. Other key competences most valued by employers included effective work organisation and leadership, as well as critical thinking and effective problem-solving.

Employers describe DOBA UAS graduates as practical, independent, responsible, motivated and proactive. They also highlight their ability to work effectively in teams, and their strong command of digital tools for communication and remote work.
The survey also identified an area for further development: managing stressful situations received a score of 5.7, which is slightly below the target value. DOBA UAS will therefore give this area additional attention when developing programmes and student support activities.
The findings relating to the impact of a degree on graduates’ careers are also encouraging. As many as 81% of employers believe that a degree is associated with career progression, a higher salary or another form of financial incentive. This share is five percentage points higher than in 2025, indicating a positive trend in the perceived value of a DOBA UAS degree.
The results show that studying at DOBA University of Applied Sciences makes an important contribution to personal and career development and supports graduates in advancing professionally.
The reputation of DOBA UAS was rated positively by 97% of participating employers; 45% believe that the institution has a strong reputation, while 52% consider its reputation appropriate. They highlighted its commitment to following current trends, high-quality study programmes, innovation, reliability and expertise in online study as important characteristics (image: Employers’ agreement with the statements presented, 2026).
The survey also asked employers about the importance and wider perception of online study. They noted that, in some environments, broader social perceptions of online education still affect the reputation of DOBA UAS, as online study may sometimes be regarded as less valuable than traditional forms of study.
At the same time, they emphasised that this perception is not a reflection of the quality of DOBA UAS. On the contrary, they recognise the institution’s openness and the flexibility of its education as important strengths, particularly for employees and other adults who need a flexible way to study because of work or family commitments. According to the participants, accessibility, high-quality teaching and programmes tailored to working adults contribute to strengthening the institution’s reputation over the long term.
The employer survey provides valuable feedback for the further development of DOBA UAS. The findings confirm that employers regard graduates as competent, collaborative, independent and well prepared for the challenges of the modern workplace.
At the same time, the findings will guide future activities, particularly in strengthening visibility, cooperation with the business sector, maintaining the quality and integrity of study, and continuing to adapt study programmes to current trends and labour market needs.
DOBA University of Applied Sciences will continue to build on quality, innovation, cooperation with respected practitioners and closer links with companies and other organisations. Its internationally accredited and professionally designed online study model will remain one of its key distinguishing strengths.
