How to Study with Artificial Intelligence: From Shortcuts to Genuine Learning

11. september 2026

How can artificial intelligence be used meaningfully, effectively and responsibly?

Artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly important part of modern learning, education and work. Understanding its possibilities, limitations and responsible use is therefore essential for high-quality, independent and effective learning.

As part of the week of content dedicated to artificial intelligence and education, on Thursday, 10. septembra 2026, DOBA University of Applied Sciences hosted a specialised webinar for everyone who wants to use artificial intelligence as an effective aid to learning:

  • to better understand the subject matter,
  • to plan learning more effectively,
  • to self-assess and consolidate knowledge,
  • to find additional explanations and different perspectives on learning content.

Particular emphasis was placed on the difference between the meaningful use of artificial intelligence as a learning aid and inappropriate use, where technology replaces independent thinking and can, in the long term, harm the development of knowledge and competences.

Dr. Andreja Lavrič The webinar was delivered by Dr Andreja Lavrič, who holds a doctorate in educational sciences and lectures in educational psychology and higher education didactics at the University of Ljubljana and DOBA University of Applied Sciences. At the Centre for Teacher Education of the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, she provides training for teachers. In her work, she uses modern pedagogical approaches, including active methods, e-learning and the use of artificial intelligence. She is the author of numerous professional publications and co-author of the monographs Predavanje kot komunikacija and Psihosocialna pomoč ob nesrečah in drugih kriznih dogodkih. She works within the company EDUCA.

Artificial intelligence can improve the way we learn – if we know how to use it thoughtfully and responsibly.

The event was held in Slovenian, with the option of using artificial intelligence tools for simultaneous translation of the content into Croatian, Serbian and English.
