Online education in the modern higher education environment is increasingly becoming a development model that goes beyond the question of accessibility and places quality, pedagogical thoughtfulness and a student-centred approach at the forefront. In the age of artificial intelligence, this opens up new questions of learning, teaching, student support, and knowledge assessment and evaluation.

Global Trends and Practices and Development Approaches at DOBA University of Applied Sciences

The event will be held in Slovenian. Translation into Croatian, Serbian and English will be available using an AI tool.

The round table will highlight key global trends and practices while also presenting the development approaches of DOBA University of Applied Sciences in the field of high-quality online education. Higher education lecturers at DOBA University of Applied Sciences will present how the faculty responds to contemporary challenges in higher education through the development of didactic approaches, support models and research-based solutions.

Special emphasis will be placed on questions of knowledge assessment and evaluation in the age of artificial intelligence, research into the impact of online study on students’ mental health and wellbeing, as well as the student perspective as an important aspect of understanding the quality of online study.

The round table will be co-created by:

  • Dr Andreja Lavrič, higher education lecturer at DOBA University of Applied Sciences and expert in higher education didactics,
  • Dr Živa Veingerl Čič, higher education lecturer at DOBA University of Applied Sciences and expert in human resource management and organisational behaviour (recording),
  • Dr Marko Divjak, higher education lecturer at DOBA University of Applied Sciences and expert in psychology, communication and research methodology,
  • Barbara Kravanja, student of the master programme Psychology at DOBA University of Applied Sciences.

Introductory remarks will be given by Jasna Dominko Baloh, Director of DOBA University of Applied Sciences.
