PARENTING TODAY – WORK CULTURE TOMORROW: IS PERMISSIVENESS SHAPING A NEW GENERATION OF EMPLOYEES? 
Generation Z between freedom of choice, meaningful work and responsibility for results

The event will be held in Slovenian language.

The round table will explore the connection between approaches to upbringing, the psychological development of young people and their entry into the labour market. Particular attention will be given to Generation Z, who bring new values, expectations and ways of working into organisations. 

Through the perspectives of four outstanding guests – psychological, research-based, the experience of young people and organisational practice – the round table will open a discussion on:

  • the psychological aspects of permissive upbringing,
  • Generation Z’s expectations of work,
  • the challenges of entering the labour market,
  • and how organisations and leadership need to adapt.

  • Dr Leonida Zalokar, former Director of the Planina Professional Centre near Postojna, Doctor of Social Pedagogy and Master of Psychology. 
  • Dr Adela Černigoj, higher education lecturer at DOBA UAS and researcher in the field of psychology.
  • Anisa Faganelj, Head of HR at Incom LEONE and HR Manager of the Year 2021.
  • Lana Helena Grujič, a representative of the younger generation who works in the Business Monitoring and Back-Office Processes Division and the Risk Management Department at SAVA INFOND.

The discussion will be moderated by the Director of the DOBA Business Group, Jasna Dominko Baloh.


We will focus on questions such as:

  • which competences young people need for a successful start to their careers,
  • how organisations should adapt to new generations,
  • and the role of education in shaping the employees of the future.

The discussion connects the educational, business and wider social spheres and is intended for everyone involved in supporting the development of young people – from parents and educators to managers and HR professionals.
