The international baSE – Blueprint for Advanced Skills and Trainings in the Social Economy project will conclude at the end of August, following four years of collaboration. Its results, experiences and future directions were presented at the project’s final event in Brussels.
On Thursday, 9 July 2026, the final conference, entitled “Strengthening Skills for the Social Economy: From Blueprint to Action,” was organised by Diesis Network. The event brought together representatives of educational institutions, social economy organisations, European networks and policymakers to discuss how the project’s results can be sustained and further developed beyond its conclusion.
The conference took place at Circularium, a former industrial complex in Brussels that has been transformed into a hub for social and environmental initiatives, the circular economy, local production, innovation and community building. As a space dedicated to sustainable transitions and new forms of collaboration, Circularium provided the perfect setting for an event focused on the future of skills and competences in the social economy.
During the conference, Dr Marina Letonja and Dr Karolina Babič, together with their colleague Barbara Dainelli from ENAIP Italy, facilitated the interactive workshop: “From Skills to Impact – How the baSE Blueprint Project Turned Transition Challenges into Learning Opportunities”.
The workshop invited participants to explore how the challenges associated with the digital, green and inclusive transitions can be transformed into concrete opportunities for learning, competence development and greater social impact.
The conclusion of the baSE project does not mark the end of its mission. The knowledge, training programmes, partnerships and recommendations developed within the project provide an important foundation for the continued strengthening of skills and the development of a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable social economy across Europe.
