Congratulations to the Class of 2025: New Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Graduates of DOBA UAS Receive Their Diplomas

On Saturday, 6 December 2025, a graduation ceremony for DOBA University of Applied Sciences was held at Hotel Habakuk in Maribor, celebrating 407 graduates of bachelor and postgraduate study programmes. The ceremony took place in two parts: at 10.00, master and doctoral graduates received their diplomas, followed at 14.00 by graduates of bachelor study programmes.

The event celebrated the knowledge, perseverance and achievements of graduates who had successfully completed an important chapter in their educational journey: 265 graduates of bachelor programmes and 138 graduates of master programmes, while 4 new Doctors of Science were also formally conferred. The graduation ceremony took place in a warm and celebratory atmosphere, attended by the University’s management, lecturers, staff and the graduates’ family members and friends.

At the event, we proudly conferred doctoral degrees on four new Doctors of Science.

• Dr Vatroslav Gorše completed his doctoral studies with the dissertation Individual Work Performance and Digital Competences of Older and Younger Employees in Remote Work, prepared under the supervision of Prof. Dr Mirjana Pejić Bach.
• Dr Stefan Lazarevski completed his doctoral studies with the dissertation Opportunities and Challenges of Public Private Partnerships in the Integration of Infrastructural Technological Innovations in Healthcare, prepared under the supervision of Prof. Dr Valentina Prevolnik Rupel.
• Dr Marijana Ribičić completed her doctoral studies with the dissertation The Role of Intellectual Property in PropTech, prepared under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr Ana Hafner. 
• Dr Hana Selak completed her doctoral studies with the dissertation Innovative Cloud Computing Technology and SMEs Performance in the UK and Ireland, prepared under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr Marina Letonja.

The title of Best Graduate in the bachelor programmes for the 2024/2025 academic year was awarded to Jaka Blazina, a graduate of the bachelor programme in Applied Psychology. He successfully passed all his exams at the first attempt and achieved an excellent average grade of 9.7. His active participation in courses was also praised by online mentors. Jaka Blazina is also active as a volunteer, leading a discussion group at the Slovenian Association for Mental Health ŠENT and organising workshops for Erasmus secondary school students and teachers.

The title of Best Graduate in the master programmes for the 2024/2025 academic year was awarded to Elimir Rajtenbah, a graduate of the master programme in Management of Smart Cities. Through his commitment and outstanding performance in his studies, he achieved an excellent average grade of 9.86. He works as a data engineer, focusing on the analysis of complex data, process optimisation and support for key business functions. During his studies, he gained in-depth knowledge of strategic management, innovation management, sustainable development and a systems approach to smart city development. He successfully applied this knowledge in his master thesis entitled Challenges and Opportunities for Slovenia in Achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050. 

The titles of Best Lecturer in the 2024/2025 academic year were awarded to:

• Higher Education Lecturer Anja Knez, lecturer in bachelor programmes for the courses Mental Health and Mental Disorders and Developmental Psychology,
• Assist. Prof. Dr Andrej Žižek, lecturer in master programmes for the course Information Technology and Systems for Smart City Management,
• Prof. Dr Tina Vukasović, lecturer in the doctoral programme for the courses Scientific Conference Paper and Academic Writing.
