Representatives of DOBA University of Applied Sciences, Mateja Geder, Head of the Project Office and International Cooperation, and Nina Turčin, Erasmus Coordinator, attended the traditional Autumn School of Tertiary Education (Jesenska šole terciarnega izobraževanja) in Laško on 2 and 3 September 2026, organised by CMEPIUS.
This year’s meeting of Erasmus+ project coordinators and CEEPUS network coordinators was held under the motto “Act. Inspire. Make an impact. With European values.” The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and examples of good practice. Participants also discussed current challenges and opportunities in the field of student mobility and international cooperation in tertiary education.
At the invitation of CMEPIUS, Mateja Geder presented the FEM-Up project – Level Up Female Entrepreneurship and STEM Skills to Foster Women Empowerment, which was recognised as an example of good practice. The project, implemented within the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships programme and worth EUR 250,000, focused on empowering young women aged 18 to 30 in the fields of STEM and entrepreneurship, as well as addressing gender stereotypes and social and cultural barriers.
The FEM-Up project ran from October 2023 to September 2025 and brought together partners from Slovenia, Italy, Spain, Malta, Greece and Turkey. Its key outcomes included an online academy for female entrepreneurship with training and mentoring, the trainer and mentor handbook How to Become a FEM-Up Trainer, the networking event Jobs of the Future, and the final FEM-Up Academy Award competition.
Presenting the project at the national coordinators’ meeting represents important recognition of the project’s quality and impact, while also providing an opportunity to share experiences and inspire other organisations involved in European projects.
