An original scientific article by the Dean of DOBA University of Applied Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr Gorazd Justinek, entitled Algorithmic Economic Diplomacy as a Paradigm Shift: Theory-Building for the AI Age, has been published in the international scientific journal Malaysian Journal of International Relations, published by the University of Malaya and indexed in the Scopus database.
The article explores how AI and algorithmic systems are transforming modern economic diplomacy. The author argues that this is not merely a continuation of the digitalisation of diplomatic practices, but a deeper shift in the way economic knowledge is created, diplomacy is conducted and power relations are shaped.
In the article, he develops the new concept of algorithmic economic diplomacy, defines its key characteristics and presents a three-stage development model of economic diplomacy. The publication makes an important contribution to discussions on the role of AI in international economic relations and provides a basis for further research into responsibility, governance and power in an increasingly algorithm-driven international environment.
