Hubertus (Huub) Ruel (Ph.D.) is a senior scholar and expert at the intersection of international business, international relations, and diplomacy. He has more than 25 years of experience in higher education and teaches topics including business diplomacy, international relations, and diplomacy at universities in Europe and beyond, including the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and Deusto University in Bilbao, Spain.
Hubertus has published extensively on commercial diplomacy and business diplomacy and has contributed to the development of these emerging fields of study. His current research focuses particularly on the moral and ethical dimensions of business, diplomacy, and international relations, drawing on Catholic Social Teaching as an important intellectual and ethical framework.
